On July 18, 2023, the College of Economics, Engineering and Technology (Ecotex) and the Intercontinental HaNoi Landmark 72 Hotel (belonging to InterContinental Hotels Group PLC – IHG) successfully signed a cooperation agreement between the two parties. The content of the agreement focuses on “Receiving students from Ecotex for internships and prioritizing recruitment to work at the Intercontinental hotel chain”.
Participating in the ceremony were the presence of Mr. Patrick Verove – General Director of Intercontinental HaNoi Landmark 72 Hotel and Mr. Tran Thi Yen – Rector of the College of Economics, Engineering and Technology, and the school’s teachers. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Thi Yen hopes the cooperation will contribute to training highly qualified human resources for the society, meeting the increasingly strict requirements of the labor market and strengthening the cooperative relationship with enterprises in the training process of the university. On behalf of the School, Mr. Tran Thi Yen also expressed her belief that the cooperation between the two sides will achieve great success in the near future.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to work together in developing human resources for the hotel industry, raising the standards of education and professionalism of the service industry in Vietnam. Simultaneously becoming a partner in which Intercontinental agrees to provide paid internship opportunities at Intercontinental apartments or hotels.
According to the content of the signed minutes, students of Ecotex can practice for at least 3 months at the Intercontinental hotel chain, are provided with uniforms, meal support and have labor insurance as full-time employees. During the internship, students will be qualified for training and specific professional guidance by the Manager/supervised on a regular basis. In addition, students can work in many different parts of the corporation, giving them the opportunity to interact with the actual requirements of the industry.
On successful completion of the program, students will receive a certificate or certificate from Intercontinental. This program gives students the opportunity not only to practice the theoretical knowledge learned at the school, but also to equip them with important skills in the industry, thereby meeting the requirements of the labor market after graduation.
In particular, Intercontinental HaNoi Landmark72 Hotel prioritizes and is ready to receive Ecotex’s human resources if it meets the criteria set forth by Intercontinental. This is a good opportunity for students to look for jobs at large corporations, develop themselves stronger to match the international standard environment.
